Retrospective Commentary: July 2nd, 2008
This is one of my favorite early comics. Pokemon genders really aren't readily apparent, especially with my older drawing style. Even long after this one came out, people still make the mistake often, so I get to link to this comic a lot.
It's probably become pretty clear by now that the comic uses a HUGE amount of copy and paste. I was real lazy with that stuff back then. Almost without exception, I used the same pictures from comic #1 and/or #3 for the entire first year of the comic. It's been called a 'sprite comic' by some, the only difference being that they're not taken out of any video game. If you want art, you'll want to skip ahead to Comic #38, though you may miss some character development, inside jokes, and maybe even something funny.
