--First --Previous May 4th, 2008 Double update today. I don't really like to make topical comics, because they'll seem outdated within a couple months. But after the big deal made over EarthBound's Smash Bros appearance (or lack thereof) on a recent comic, I felt I had to make a follow-up. Actual funny comics will arrive shortly. Speaking of EarthBound, I had to go back and edit the aforementioned comic because I had it capitalized as Earthbound instead of EarthBound, and that just won't do. -Hlavco April 1st, 2008 YOU GOT COMICROLL'D. Okay, enough of that. I also just happened to finish a real comic, and I uploaded it just before this, so navigate yo'selves to the 'Previous' button. So, Nintendo took Earthbound out of American Brawl, and nobody's sure why. I mean, all the demo is is the beginning part with the meteorite. It just seems sort of... evil. Nintendo's got this thing with making sure the Mother series doesn't see the light of day ouside of Japan. Weird. Well, my trusty truck got its first battle scars on Saturday. I made a crappy shift and stalled it. The truck decided it didn't want to start, and getting it to go again, combined with keeping an eye on my mirrors for the people BEHIND me, distracted me from the car crossing in front of me. The damage is minor, I sorta slowly rolled into their rear wheel well as they passed perpendicular at about 35mph. If I had started a moment sooner I would've hit the front of their car, and that would've been quite bad. I guess I got lucky. The accident was entirely my fault, I'm not afraid to admit it. I was coming out of the movie theater after seeing 'Horton Hears a Who'. It was a surprisingly funny movie, I recommend it. -Hlavco February 19th, 2008 Well, I'm skimping out on my New Year's Resolution already. To make 35 comics, I'd have to make three per month, except for one two-comic month, which I guess I already took in January. This little 'story arc' was supposed to be finished by now, not just starting. Oh well, no big deal. It's almost finals week, so I'll probably catch up out of procrastination. Also, check it out! I added archive navigation buttons under the main page comic. Now you won't have to check the Comics page (which I still need to add more comics to... this site is Penny Racers ComicS, not Penny Racers Comic) to see if you've missed any updates. I should really be doing some schoolwork right now, so I'll see ya. -Hlavco January 24th, 2008 New comic. Not much to talk about, since I've been busy with class work since the last comic. Um... kinda disappointed in the new DDR Supernova2 machines that are coming out. They removed six of my favorite songs, and that's upsetting. I mean, sure, I think I was the only person in the world who actually played them, and they were from an incredibly old, obscure mix, but still. Come ON. And they didn't even throw patsenner in there to make up for it... CURSE YOU KONAMIIIIIII! -Hlavco January 19th, 2008 Welcome to Season 3! It'll be the best season ever! Or they're all fired. There'll be a follow up to this comic in a few days, so that's two out of the thirty-four required updates right there. Pichu's possession is a loose reference to Earthbound's Ruffini the dog, through whom the game's developers would give useful hints. Unfortunately, I saved this comic's Inkscape file over comic 51's, so I'll never be able to use Skippy's hat/scarf/mitten combo again without retracing it. Oh well. Mad props to Comicstrip for making me fanart. That's never happened before. -Hlavco December 26th, 2007 Merry Christmas and Happy Other Holidays! My schedule got all messed up, and this comic was supposed to be finished BEFORE Christmas. There was also going to be a part two, but if it's not out by New Year's, I'm just gonna move on to something else. Halloween... then Christmas?! Yeah, it was a pretty big gap, even considering that the Halloween comic was half a month late. Let's see... what else is up? Super Paper Mario is pretty cool. We got a PS3 with Rock Band and it's pretty awesome, though somehow we wound up with the only PS3 model that only has two USB slots. My arm is tired from drumming... Got a CD player and rims for my truck. It was a pretty awesome Christmas overall. So, um, hopefully I'll be back later this week with a new comic. That'd be neat. -Hlavco November 15th, 2007 No, it's totally still October. You can tell by the Halloween costumes. I win. I don't really have much to say, because it's three in the morning and that's not one of my more talkative hours. I've been trying to make these update posts a little longer because the one about the Platinum Edition went over surprisingly well. But hey, there isn't always something as awesome as a pencil sharpener to talk about. -Hlavco |
